Dr. Chance Harvey, language arts instructor at the Jefferson Davis Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, will present a paper at the Mississippi Philological Association conference at Mississippi College in Clinton on Jan. 30. The association, which hosts the annual conference, also publishes a journal for the scholars in and around Mississippi in the fields of languages and literature.
Harvey is the only community college instructor invited to speak at the conference. Her paper, “I Love Natalie Rake: The Jefferson Davis Campus Difference,” describes her teaching experience at the Jefferson Davis Campus over the past three years.
“I am excited about this honor and look forward to the presentation,” Harvey said. “The Mississippi Philological Association is a distinguished organization, and I am pleased to represent our college at their conference.”
Harvey’s paper will also be published in an upcoming issue of the TYCA (Two-Year College English Association Journal).
