Searcy Taylor, Financial Aid director at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College’s Jefferson Davis Campus, has been selected president-elect of the Mississippi Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA).

“My commitment runs for three years,” she said. “I’ll serve as president-elect (2008-2009), president (2009-2010), and immediate past president (2010-2011). I'm excited about the opportunity to serve the interests and needs of students, schools and aid administrators.”

“Searcy Taylor is a real asset to the Jefferson Davis Campus, and I am looking forward to seeing her bring her strong leadership to the MASFAA,” said Dr. Susan Scaggs, JD Campus vice president. “I think it’s safe to say we can expect great things from the MASFAA during Searcy's term of service.”

MASFAA is a professional association with more than 300 members involved in the administration of student financial aid. The diverse membership brings together school financial aid administrators and persons from agencies/organizations that provide services and products to the student financial-aid industry. MASFAA is involved in training for financial aid administrators, enhancing public awareness of student financial aid, promoting access to higher education and facilitating communication between schools, and meeting the needs of students, parents and institutions. MASFAA is also a member of the Southern Association of the Student Financial Aid Administrators, which includes nine states (Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia).
