MGCCC's Jefferson Davis Campus to present "Little Shop of Horrors"

The musical will be presented April 21-25 in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College's Jefferson Davis Campus in Gulfport.

The Jefferson Davis Players will present "Little Shop of Horrors" April 21-25 in the Fine Arts Auditorium at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College's Jefferson Davis Campus in Gulfport. Curtain will be at 8 o'clock each night April 21-24 and at 2 p.m. on April 25. Ryan Pierini is directing the production, and the live music will be presented under the direction of Dr. David Knowles.

"Little Shop of Horrors" is a musical that tells the story of Seymour Krelbourn, a meek florist who makes a Faustian pact with a tiny plant in order to win the girl he loves. The mysterious plant, however, needs blood to survive, and by the end of the show, practically all of the principle characters have been devoured. The book and lyrics are by Howard Ashman, and the music was composed by Alan Menken.

The cast includes Aaron Bentz, Kristen Prouty, Shay Lawson, Kentrell Brazeal, Bryce Russell, Beth Bonin, Christine Stansbery, Cherita Robinson, Taylor Switzer, Krista Miller, Nicolas Burrill, and Amanda Ivie. The chorus includes Sebastian Brown, Beth Bonin, Christine Stansbery, Nicolas Burrill, Claire Deaton, and Amanda Ivie. Technical staff includes Chelsea Higgs, stage manager; Chasity Massengill, assistant stage manager; Maddy Arbogast, light board operator; Alex Ware, sound board operator; and Winston Wedgeworth, Ricky Johnson, Blake Paysse and Charlene McQueen, running crew.
